Wisden Cricinfo staff08-Dec-2003Percept Profile, the former managers of Zaheer Khan, have filed a case against him for signing up with Globosport – the sports management company promoted by Mahesh Bhupathy, an Indian tennis star.Bhupathy confirmed that the matter was in court when he spoke to Times News Network from Hyderabad on Sunday. He said, "I was surprised to learn about it. We approached Zaheer only after his previous contract had expired. I don’t think there should be any issues and we look forward to working with him." Percept D’ Mark, a sister company, was been earlier involved in a contract row with Sourav Ganguly.According to a source, Zaheer had written to Percept Profile and told them that he was not keen to renew the contract. The source added that the company plans to use the First Right of Refusal clause in its contract with Zaheer as a basis of its argument. This clause makes it obligatory for a client to continue his relationship with his or her managers as long as they match other offers that the client may get.Rahat Beri,Chief Operating Officer, Percept Profile said, "We don’t want to comment on this subject."
